Soup farmer left in July after he announced that he would become the leader of the Frisian party FNP. NSC leader Van Hijum then told him that his presence in the NSC group was no longer desirable and Soup farmer handed in his seat. NSC is now sliding, number 32 on the list in the previous elections, forward as his replacement.
No long -term job for Vincent Verouden
That won’t be a long -term job. Verouden will be sworn in on 2 September, when the room is back from summer recess. Formally he is a member of parliament until the beginning of November, but in fact his work will stop after four and a half weeks. After all, the parliamentary work will stop at the beginning of October due to the election recess.
The short -term parliamentary membership is not unique. Two years ago, D66’er Carline van Breugel was appointed only a day and a half before the election recess, so that her party was at least complete in the votes.
NSC MP Soup farmer gives his seat back
Van Breugel then came in for someone who had gone to be crushed at the last minute as a ‘full -fledged’ member of parliament and would therefore be entitled to six months of redundancy, despite his probably a member of the House of Representatives. But his party announces that he will see it because he can return to his old job at the European Commission.
Because of that work, Verouden does not live in the Netherlands, but in Brussels. He is not the only parliamentarian who lives outside the Netherlands, for example, Volt-senator Eddy Hartog lives alternately in Ireland and Brussels.
NSC lost a MP in the person of Agnes Joseph this summer in addition to a soup farmer. But her seat cannot be filled because she switched to BBB. This can also have consequences for the voting relationships on the general political considerations.
NSC pension cannon Agnes Joseph goes to BBB immediately and takes seat: ‘I did not feel sufficiently supported’
Until recently, there was a 75/75 distribution in the Chamber on certain right-wing-conservative themes in which NSC was not very the most of the old coalition, but those parties received support from SGP, FVD and JA21. This happened, for example, around the much -discussed plan to criminalize illegality around asylum. Due to the switch from Joseph to BBB, that right wing has the majority for a few weeks after the summer.
