The sales in the retail trade of the euro zone rose in June. In the month comparison, revenues increased by 0.3 percent, as the European Statistics Office Eurostat announced on Wednesday in Luxembourg. On average, economists had expected this increase after the sales had dropped the month before.

However, sales in May had not fallen as much as previously known. The statistics office revised the decline to 0.3 percent after a damper had previously been reported by 0.7 percent.

Compared to the same month last year, retail sales rose by 3.1 percent in June. An increase of 2.6 percent was expected here.
