In 1967 he won the German championship with Eintracht Braunschweig. Now Peter Kaack has died. The former defender was 83 years old.
Grief for a master player from 1967: Peter Kaack died at the age of 83. This was confirmed by his long -time club Eintracht Braunschweig on Tuesday evening. From 1963 to 1973, the former defender had taken over 299 Bundesliga games for Eintracht. He celebrated his greatest success with the BTSV with the winning of the German Championship in 1967.
“The entire Eintracht family mourns the loss: Peter Kaack, the uncompromising preliminary paver from the 1967 master elf, died on July 31 at the age of 83,” says the notification of Eintracht. “Kaack will remain unforgettable as a athlete, as a person and as part of the greatest success of our club history in Braunschweig and at Eintracht. Quiet in peace!”
The native of Neumünster had started his career at home at SC Gut Heil Neumünster before he went to VfR Neumünster in 1961. After his subsequent engagement in Braunschweig, he returned to VfR and ended his career there in 1979. He then worked for a few years for sporting goods manufacturers Adidas.
As a regular player of Eintracht, he was instrumental in the Bundesliga triumph in the championship year. Kaack also competed with Eintracht in the European champion in the European Cup. In this competition he scored one of a total of three goals for the BTSV. During his career, he also had 48 missions in the Oberliga, 21 games in the DFB Cup, twelve games in the UI Cup and five games in the UEFA Cup.
