Ascent candidate Hannover 96 started the new second division season with a narrow home win. The Lower Saxony won 1-0 (0-0) against 1. FC Kaiserslautern and gave the new coach Christian Titz a successful debut. In front of 49,000 spectators in the sold -out Heinz von Heiden Arena, substitute Noel Aseko achieved the winning goal for Hanover (74th minute).
The two completely newly formed teams took a while to find their rhythm. Hanover’s coach Titz had nominated eight new additions to the starting line -up. At Kaiserslautern, six players were on the field at the kick -off who have only been under contract with the Palaters since summer.
Overall, Hanover worked a bit further and was the game -determining team. However, the hosts left some chances unused. The new foreign striker Mustapha Bundu in particular had some good opportunities. In contrast, too little came from Kaiserslautern. Aseko redeemed Hanover a quarter of an hour before the end.
Futkeu towered over: Fürth succeeds in starting lightning against Dynamo Dresden
The SpVgg Greuther Fürth has conquered Dynamo Dresden and screwed up the comeback game in the 2nd league. Thanks to double scorer Noel Futkeu, the hosts prevailed in a competitive and eventful match with 3: 2 (2: 1). The 22-year-old met after less than half a minute and also in the 51st minute. Felix Klaus succeeded in 2-0 for Fürth (9th). The goals before Christoph Daferner (11th) and Claudio Kammerknecht (74.) were not enough for the Dresdners.
In the sometimes rapid encounter, promoted Dynamo was largely game -determining with significantly more goal shots after a failed initial phase. However, there were not a lot of compelling chances in the team of Coach Thomas Stamm in front of 15,631 spectators.
Player of the game was futile. After the former Frankfurter was able to head the first flank of the game without being able to go to the lead, he caused the highlight of the afternoon in round two: in the penalty area he let three opponents get out with a remarkable dribbling and pushed in to 3-1.
After that, however, the guests only managed the connection goal through a long -range shot from Kammerknecht. Shortly before the break, Dynamo was also lucky during a header on the crossbar of the Fürthers Brynjar Bjarnason.
