Does Germany’s best tennis player get back into full strength at the US Open? Alexander Zverev sees himself on the way to old form after a month -long “little burnout”. “I’m fresh in my head. Maybe I’m not playing my best tennis in Canada or in Cincinnati. But when the US Open starts, I will be a title candidate again,” said Zverev confidently in the podcast “Nothing Major Show”. The Hamburgers are currently in Toronto, the last Grand Slam tournament of the year in New York starts on August 24th.
Even now in the podcast he gave an insight into his soul life. Between the lost Australian Open final against Jannik Sinner in January and Wimbledon, he had “a little burnout”, according to the world ranking third: “I was not very motivated. I had no great desire to train. I didn’t enjoy my time on the pitch.”
