The grief for the former biathlete is great. Another family member has now commented – and says goodbye to Laura Dahlmeier with personal memories.
Not only the public grief for Laura Dahlmeier is great, especially for the family of the ex-biathlete who died in mountaineering in Pakistan, there are hardly any days to be overcome.
After saying goodbye to the closest family in a statement of management, a cousin of Laura Dahlmeier has now commented. “Yesterday part of my heart left,” Paulina Weigelt wrote on Thursday on Instagram. Weigelt is a young skier and mountain biker. “My cousin, my sporting and human model. The mountains were at home.” Dahlmeier “loved being outside in nature, with friends, or just with himself.”
Weigelt emphasized Dahlmeier’s passion for mountaineering: her dream was to “climb every summit, to accept every challenge. And that was exactly what she did with a strength, laugh and a joie de vivre that was contagious.”
For her emotional words, Weigelt posted some of photos with her older cousin Dahlmeier, from his own childhood until the end. Dahlmeier was a person “who made rooms brighter with his laugh. Who motivated others to believe in sports, in life, in the heart.”
You can “not yet believe that you are no longer there. But I know you will be with me forever – in every step I take, in every decision, in every smile that I wear for you.”
