RTL announced Astrid Holleeder as a new TV personality at the time, as if some kind of TV goddess had emerged from nowhere. She had to give cachet to the late-night prestige project, RTL Tonight. But after telling her twice about the hassle with her brother Willem Holleeder, the gimmick was worn off again; as an expert she didn’t make any sense of it.
Something sensible
What is Astrid doing now? Working on yet another book about her brother Willem. In other words: we are dealing with one here one trick pony. She has been silent for quite some time, but is now showing signs of life again Instagram-channel.
She writes: “I am a bit quieter because I am writing. And writing is always accompanied by beautiful intense moments, but also with uncertainty. And the uncertainty of late is: who is waiting for my posts? I first have to have something meaningful to say.”
‘You’re so quiet’
What kind of sense? I am busy having something meaningful to say so that I can really mean something to you,” says Astrid. “Because that is what I have learned in life: I have to mean something to others.”
Then Astrid turns to her many fans. “But your messages in which you say you’re so quiet and I don’t hear you make me see again that I don’t always have to be worth something before people like me. So I’m going to post through that uncertainty again.”

Well, on the table: what is the latest news from Astrid? “The nice news today is that after ten years of writing I have discovered how nice it is to have a color on your nails so that it makes you happy when you are typing. I can recommend it to everyone.”
