The relatively unknown singer Denny Braaf recently seems to have a second career: that of self -appointed press chief of his new son -in -law André Hazes jr.
Denny Braaf, known to some for a talent show on SBS 6, suddenly cannot be beaten from the gossip sections. He visibly enjoys all the interest that the father -in -law of André Hazes Jr. entails. After his long interview in Shownieuws about André’s holiday and daughter Noa, he is now with three full pages on the weekend.
Denny is pissed off
We see Denny in the magazine extensively answering all kinds of questions about the love life of his daughter. “Does your daughter always fell on types like André?”, “What does she make a special pair?”, Etcetera. You would think that a father then shut the shutters, but Denny is going completely loose, until you almost forget that he is the protagonist.
At the same time, André’s new Schoonpapa complains extensively about how ‘common’ the press is for him. He believes that journalists suggest that he consciously looks up the spotlights and that huge. Denny says that he feels ‘sabbed down’ because of the imaging. And that while he, he emphasizes, only answers questions.
Sabuled
Denny denies that it is to do attention. “Of course I have received more brand awareness from the media, but I cannot say that my agenda is overflowing because I am the ‘father -in -law of’. And that is not the approach. It is said, however, that I am following the success of André. That is not at all.”
He continues: “I have no performance or less. It is about me that my daughter finds happiness, in this case André Hazes. But it might as well have been André de Boer.”
Ridiculous
Denny bothers that the media would be so mean to him. “I find the enormous negativity annoying, really ridiculous. A lot of people may not know me because I have not had a hit, but I have been in the artist profession for 35 years.”
He continues: “In all those years I have always experienced a certain kind of negativity or envy, but not what happens to me now. I am completely sabbed down. I am surprised. Sometimes I have to laugh a bit, because we know how it is.”
Own career
What do people say then? “What kind of bad father I am and I only give interviews because of my own career. I just talk to the press nicely about myself and these questions are also part of that.”
“But when I give an interview, I see under the video that no less than 280 of the 300 online reactions are shocking. So much trouble, very annoying.”
