Hannover 96 borrows the Japanese offensive player Daisuke Yokota. The 25-year-old meets his ex-club Kaiserslautern on Sunday.

Hannover 96 hired the Japanese offensive player Daisuke Yokota. The 25-year-old changes from a loan from the Belgian club Kaa Gent to Lower Saxony, as the second division soccer team announced on Tuesday. After the coming season, Hanover has a purchase option for the attacker.

Yokota is the 16th new addition of the Hanoverians before the upcoming season. Last season the Japanese played on a loan at 1st FC Kaiserslautern and scored four goals in 25 second division missions for the Palatinate. His achievements aroused the interest of several clubs, including the Bundesliga promoted FC St. Pauli.

On the first day of the match, Hannover 96 meets Yokotas Ex-Club 1. FC Kaiserslautern on Sunday (1.30 p.m./Sky). The team is then listed as captain for the first time by Enzo Leopold. The 25-year-old midfielder, with the Lower Saxony since 2022, was made by head coach Christian Titz determined to the new captain. The 27-year-old Romanian central defender Vigil Ghita, who was recently hired, acts as deputy.
