“I had a good conversation with the trainer,” says Maher about it. “Telstar is in a process and I am also in a process. We try to get the best out of it. I try to help guys with my experience. For me it is building up, but I am also a boy who helps players.”
Lack of respect
At Telstar, Maher participated for about twenty minutes against Royal HFC last weekend. That was the agreement that Correia had made together with the midfielder. On the internet, a few websites spoke of ‘Not fit Maher’ and ‘This is what too thick midfielder looks like’.
To the great displeasure of Correia, because the two have made a clear plan and adhered to it. Maher finds it ‘typically Dutch’ and lacks respect for the fact that he returns. “That was also at Ajax last year at Henderson.”
Maher broke through in 2010 in the first team of AZ. In the cup final of 2012 he scored against PSV, the club he would go later. With the Eindhoven club he became the national champion twice. Under Louis van Gaal, he debuted in 2012 for the Dutch national team. In addition to AZ and PSV, Maher played for Osmanlispor, FC Twente, FC Utrecht, Damac FC and Al-Wakrah.
