In a statement on the occasion of the Berlin CSD, Peter Plate remembers his most impressive appearance with Rosenstolz at the Christopher Street Day. He commemorates his late colleague Anna R.
“Rosenstolz Beautiful appearance at a CSD? – Sorry, beloved Berlin – was at the Heumarkt in Cologne. At that time it seemed a bit more alternative, anarchist – and yet there were 30,000 people in our memory, and there was a feeling of departure in the air,” said Plate in a posting on his social networks.
Peter Plate on the occasion of the CSD about the current situation: “Many still don’t dare to show their ‘being different'”
On the occasion of the CSD, Peter Plate talks about social reality in 2025. Today it is less about departure, but rather about defending what has been achieved:
“Because we are still far away from the self -evident life of the same rights for everyone. There are still far too many people who don’t dare to show their ‘being different’ – at work, in their family or in general.”
Plate further: “Of course we also think of Anna – for whom it was always a matter of course to get up, interfere and get loud for others. With energy. With love. With fun. And with attitude.” Peter Plate himself will together with Celina Dos Santos, Steffi Irmen and Matscho Neubauer from Romeo & Julia’s ensemble – love is everything at the Berlin CSD. They are supported by singer Marcella Rockefeller. The performance takes place at 7:30 p.m. at the Brandenburg Gate.
CSD: Fans wanted to remember Anna R.
After the death of Rosenstolz singer Anna R. in March 2025, fans started a petition on change.org. Your goal: The CSD should be “proud thanks to Rosenstolz – in a loving memory of Anna R.” stand.
The petition emphasized the importance of Anna R. and Rosenstolz for the LGBTQ+community. The music had given many people self -confidence and the feeling of being loved – even in times when tolerance was not a matter of course.
“Rosenstolz proudly made us in a time when diversity was not the norm everywhere.”
The actual motto of this year’s CSD is: “Never quiet again”.
