The 20 degrees has just not been reached, has it?

Spring is starting earlier and earlier. This March 22 would be the first ‘warm day’ of this year. That was ultimately not the case, because ‘only’ 19.9 degrees was measured. Or was the 20 degrees exceeded, but we just don’t know it yet?

“We owe the high temperature to the large amount of sun,” says Johnny Willemsen of Weerplaza. “We also have dry air, which also ensures higher temperatures.”

That dry air makes for something very remarkable. “There is a very big difference between night and day. Despite the warm weather, we will go back to freezing again next night. You don’t have to scratch, but you might see a bit of ice on your roof.”

If we had reached 20 degrees, that would be the warmest March 22 ever in Brabant. The numbers currently show that the record has not been broken. However, there is a good chance that it will turn out to have happened next week. “The weather station in Gilze-Rijen is currently not transmitting the data due to a malfunction. And that is where it is usually warmest on days like this,” says Raymond Klaasen of Weerplaza.

The sun will get all the space in the coming days due to a clear blue sky. That could mean that we will break another record next Friday. The record for the most hours of sunshine in March stands at 208 hours of sunshine and we seem to be surpassing that.
