“I want a fatbike.” For months our adolescent daughter has been insisting on our need to exchange her stupid bicycle for a fatbike. After another fierce discussion, I wonder aloud why they don’t just call that thing a children’s moped. That covers the load much better and sounds a lot less cool. I see her face involving.

Since then we have always mentioned the Fatbike at home and it seems to work: our daughter’s interest to have one himself has decreased considerably. She’s hardly talking about it.

Disadvantage of this approach: now she has set her sights on a scooter.
