
Hundreds of fans celebrated the 1st FC Köln in the training camp in Bad Waltersdorf on Wednesday evening. The board and the management also came.
Since Saturday, the 1st FC Köln has been preparing for the Bundesliga season 2025/26 in the heat of Austria. The team of the new coach Lukas Kwasniok has so far worked every day in the Thermenstadion Bad Waltersdorf, on Monday and Tuesday even in double layers in the front and afternoon at temperatures of up to 40 degrees.
However, the embers in Styria did not only make the players sweat, who even had to complete speed runs at the hottest time on Tuesday. The fans of the goats have so far pursued every training session from the stands, enjoyed the well -known and new faces in the team and already celebrated many a goal in a training game as if the league had already started.
Above all, however, the bibs of the billy goats used the time to vacation in Styria. Many a fan invests a considerable part of their annual vacation to follow FC in the training camp in summer. The club also knows that, and so the billy goats invited their followers to the traditional fan evening on Wednesday evening. Before the thermal stadium was drunk and eaten, laughed and sung, celebrated and talked.
Not only around 300 Cologne fans came, but also the players, the coaches and managing directors Philipp Türoff. The board with President Werner Wolf and Vice President Carsten Wettich was also on site. At first Wolf welcomed the fans, then coach Lukas Kwasniok grabbed the microphone and made you want the next season.
“I have never experienced so many positive crazy people in a heap,” the new FC coach began. “I only told me that I should say something. I thought I was here to tap Kölsch.” He did that later, but not before he stood up with the fans “to a horny season” and promised: “You can trust us.”
The players mingled with the fans, wrote autographs, posed for selfies and enjoyed a bratwurst and a Kölsch as well as the trailers. Since Kwasniok had given his team free of training and instead invited to an internal beach volleyball tournament, the mood was left out and the legs were no longer as difficult as on the days before.
In the meantime, training will be trained normally on Thursday before the test game against the Premier League relegated team Leicester City will take place in Graz on Friday.
On Saturday the FC Tross travels back to the cathedral city. The Cologne native in Bad Waltersdorf are for the second time, the partnership with Styria expires this year. It is not yet clear whether FC 2026 will come back here or open its warehouse in another place.
