Striker Karim Adeyemi had previously had to pull out of the test games on Saturday (March 26, 2022) in Sinsheim against Israel and three days later against the Netherlands in Amsterdam due to a muscle injury. On Monday, the DFB also announced that Bayern professional Joshua Kimmich would not come to the DFB team on Monday due to the impending birth of his third child. “We hope that if everything goes well he will be with us soon”said Flick about Kimmich.
After Koch’s cancellation, Flick still has 23 players in his squad for the time being. It was initially not known whether an actor would be nominated. In November, Flick had to do without the Bayern defender and several contacts, including Kimmich, in the last World Cup qualifiers because of a positive corona test from Niklas Süle.
