Actually, Eintracht Braunschweig wanted to test against Twente Enschede for the opening of the season. However, this is now on shaky legs. The BTSV has stopped ticket sales for the time being.
Does the test game for the opening of Eintracht Braunschweig against the Dutch first division club Twente Enschede? At least that’s what the Dutch daily newspaper “ad” reports. And Eintracht is apparently no longer sure at all.
On Thursday evening, the club announced that the ticket sale for the game planned on July 26 was initially exposed to the Dutch. It is currently unclear whether the game can actually take place, the association said. “So far we have no written cancellation of the Dutch, but there are currently doubts about the implementation of the game,” says the message.
The ticket sales for the game had already started on Tuesday. This has now been stopped for so long, “until the situation is bindingly clarified,” said Eintracht. To do this, you stand in close exchange with the partner agency Onside, which the game had set on behalf of the BTSV. At the same time, you check possible alternatives for the season opening.
According to the Dutch newspaper, Twente decided without further ado to compete against the Eintracht against the Portuguese top club FC Porto. A reason for the change of heart may have been that no guest fans would have been approved at the test game in Braunschweig.
Eintracht had planned two test games against Twente at the opening of the season on July 26th. The first game should start at 11 a.m. and take place to the exclusion of the public. At 2 p.m., the official opening of the season with the second duel against Twente should follow in the Eintracht Stadium. A child and family-friendly program was planned as the frame. It is quite possible that at least in this form nothing becomes.
