In the first half the Italians had a chance to win, but the peace was reached 0-0. Five minutes after the break it was deserved. Spits Cristiana Girelli shot inside: 1-0. A few minutes later the game seemed decided with a new goal, but it was rejected due to offside. Norway still lived against a furiously playing Italy.

But in the 57th minute suddenly a penalty for the Norwegian women. Arbiter Frappart pointed to the dot after holding Ada Hegerberg within the sixteen meter. Hegerberg put himself behind the ball. Earlier at the tournament against Switzerland, she had aimed a penalty. And it happened again: again she shot a penalty kick wide!

However, she made up for her painful mistake and scored the equalizer in the 66th minute. It seemed to be heading for an extension, to a rake header from Girelli in injury time: 2-1 for the Italians.

In the semi -finals, Italy will meet the winner of the game between Sweden and title defender England, the team of Dutch national coach Sarina Wiegman. They play their match in the quarterfinals on Thursday in Zurich.
