Who will Cadillac start with from the 2026 season in Formula 1? And how high are the chances for Mick Schumacher to fill one of the two cockpit? As part of the Silverstone GP, the team managers spoke to several candidates, including Schumacher. The first driver for the new project will soon be announced.

Preparations at Cadillac for the Formula 1 entry in the coming year are in full swing. At the Great Britain GP in Silverstone, team boss Graeme Lowdon, technology consultant Pat Symonds and co-owner Dan Towriss looked at them.

Probably with a certain reason: according to “car, engine and sport”, the three talks with several driver candidates for the team. In addition to the current Mercedes test driver Valtteri Bottas and Aston-Martin-Reserve Felipe Drugovich, you also talked to Mick Schumacher.

Formula 1: Bottas at Cadillac already fixed?

No pilot has yet been presented – the casting has been running for a long time and it should not be long before the first regular driver is presented. Valtteri Bottas is still a favorite – the first media reports already speak of the fact that the deal is fixed. The conversation in Silverstone was by no means the first to lead the Finn with Cadillac. A social media post by the Mercedes reservist recently looked like confirmation of his Formula 1 comeback.

The chances of a Formula 1 return from Sergio Perez would be bad. Because according to the “car, engine and sport”, Cadillac has decided on the combination of an experienced driver and a young talent. Perez still hopes that large sponsorship money and the relevance of the Latin American market Cadillac will move to hire the Mexican.

There is probably a three-way battle between Felipe Drugovich, Frederik Vesti and Mick Schumacher for the second Cadillac cockpit. The German still hopes for a Formula 1 comeback and was able to shine two podiums in the WEC for alpine in the current season.

However, no contract has been signed, but apparently the conversations in Silverstone did not change.
