Due to rheumatics, local hero Eva Lys canceled her participation in the WTA tournament in Hamburg.
“Since Wimbledon I have been fighting with a rheumatism. I tried everything to compete in my hometown, but in the last training session my body showed me very clearly that it was too early,” wrote the 23-year-old on Monday at X: “The decision not to start was anything but easy for me.”
Lys, who left Wimbledon in the second round, did not give a specific date for her return to the tour. “I hope to be able to stand on the pitch very soon,” said German number three.
