Emergency services turn out for 35 refugees in distress in the North Sea … but they just want to sail on to the United Kingdom

Early on Tuesday morning, the emergency center received a call from a group of refugees who may have been in distress on a boat on the high seas. The rescue services initially did not know their exact position. In the end, the group of about 35 refugees turned out to be already in French waters … but they did not want to be helped. “They indicated that they wanted to continue sailing towards the United Kingdom,” says Governor Carl Decaluwé.
