André blew out 75 candles a month ago, on February 20, and they celebrated in the baking tent. From animal crackers and mister de Bok to There is a horse in the hallway (or well, in the tent) and, yes, pizza: All of Holland bakes was a real treat for the many André van Duin fans among the viewers.

André van Duin is not so fond of sweet, but he is fond of savory. That is why the bakers were allowed to get started with croquettes and cheese biscuits, so that the birthday boy André could also enjoy. Finally, a special spectacle: the candidates had to make a real André van Duin cake, a bust of one of his legendary characters. This resulted in, among other things, a Flip Whistler, Meneer de Bok, Willempie and Jan Zak pie.
HHB tribute to André van Duin
Viewers feast on André’s birthday special. “A really nice tribute to André van Duin, he deserves that too,” it sounds. And: “Andre has been an asset to the program.” Another even labels it as the nicest All of Holland bakesepisode ever.

My parents always thought André van Duin was fantastic. I grew up with programs from him, great. Now we look #HHB with the kids and my son says, “That’s a really funny man.”
