Is FC Bayern plans to replace Max Eberl? If it goes to ex-player Mario Basler, it could come like this soon.

At Bayern, the transfer summer has not yet been running according to plan. While new players are waiting for themselves, Florian Wirtz and Nico Williams have already canceled two wish players. This is increasing the work of sports director Max Eberl more and more.

In this context, ex-Bayern professional Mario Basler is talking about a new name: Markus Krösche. Already in his “Basler Tallert” podcast, he had indicated on Monday that the current sports director of Eintracht Frankfurt could soon take on a leading position in Munich. “I’ll say it very quietly. I heard that a Mr. Krösche is at FC Bayern Munich next year and that he will take over a position there,” said Basler.

In an interview with “Absolut Football”, Basler is now adding. “Sure, I don’t know all the details at Bayern, but I hear a lot,” he says. “We will see it after this season whether Markus Krösche is going to FC Bayern. I can only repeat it once: I have information that there was discussions that you are already very far for the new season.”

Krösche has been in office at Eintracht Frankfurt since 2021. During this time, the club celebrated the profit of the Europa League and qualified for the first time through the Bundesliga for the Champions League. In addition, Krösche with lucrative transfers such as those of Randal Kolo Muani (switched to Paris Saint-Germain) and Omar Marmoush (Manchester City) were able to generate high income.

Basler primarily praises Krösche’s style: he “always has a hand,” said the 56-year-old. He particularly appreciates the quiet way of working – with Krösche, a transfer is usually only public after the signature. “I have to say that Markus Krösche has been doing a great job for years,” explains Basler and emphasizes: “I know that FC Bayern is interested in him.”
