The American against the Polish: on Saturday the Championships will have a new queen
As has been happening for years, Wimbledon’s female final is a surprise. Amanda Anisimova against Iga Swiatek, two different stories for a game that will have many meanings. The five-time Polish Slam champion scrambled 6-0 in just 72 minutes the 2021 Olympic champion Belinda Bencic. Switzerland qualified for the semifinals on the return to the tournament after the birth of the Bella daughter in April 2024.

It is no coincidence that this IgA final, which arrived in Wimbledon after the disaster on the season on the red: the Polish has fallen in the standings at number 8, but the grass made slower by the heat (the famous “TERBA”) has revitalized the former Queen WTA, which in the last rounds has truly played the great. Swiatek on Saturday could conquer the sixth Slam, winning in all three surfaces.

Anisimova’s challenge in Sabalenka has been struggled, exciting, full of twists. Anisimova deservedly imposed himself 6-4 4-6 6-4 in a perfect game by the American, who has always bothered the number 1 (below 3-6 towards direct). Aryna in 2025 is a queen who has not yet won a Slam, almost always demonstrating that she is the strongest, but never in the moments that really matter. There are no precedents between Anisimova and Swiatek. However it goes, Wimbledon will have a new queen.
