Foreign ministers Rubio and Lavrov meet on Thursday
The American Foreign Minister Marco Rubio speaks his Russian counterpart Sergej Lavrov on Thursday. The meeting takes place during a top of the Southeast Asian country organization Asean in Malaysia. This confirms an official from the US Department of Foreign Affairs to the AFP news agency.
Russia has performed its attacks on Ukraine in recent days. In the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, Moscow fired a record number of 728 drones and 13 rockets on Ukraine. According to Kiev, eight were killed.
The relationships between the US and Russia are also sharp, after statements by US President Donald Trump earlier this week. He said, among other things, that Russian President Vladimir Putin sold nonsense and threatened with new sanctions. To the question of what measures he would take against Russia, Trump replied: “I’m not going to tell that, we want it to be a surprise.”
