National coach Wück criticizes DFB star

The DFB team turned a deficit against Denmark and won at the end. However, national coach Christian Wück wants to ask a player for a conversation.
With her style of play, the German goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger brings her trainer to the load limit. After the 2-1 win of the DFB team against Denmark in the European Championship group phase, Christian Wück became clear: When asked whether he agrees with the risky actions of his goalkeeper, he said “No”.
Berger had agreed to dribbling against Danish attackers in several situations – much to the displeasure of the national coach. Wück announced that the conversation with her will be looking for: “I will sit with her at a table. We have to find other solutions, otherwise I will not get old.”
As before, the 34-year-old is the undisputed number one under Horst Hrubesch. At the 2024 Olympic Games, she played a crucial role in winning the bronze medal.
Berger reacted calmly to the planned pronunciation. “Let’s see what he has to say. And let’s see if we find a solution that we both agree with,” she said with a smile. It is simply her way of playing football.
Is this species too risky? Berger said that it might look like that from the outside, but she herself had a “really good feeling”. At the same time, it showed at least a little more comfortable. She would “probably do it again”, but added: “Maybe we can minimize it. I will definitely not get it out.”
