A possible change from Max Verstappen to Mercedes is the hottest rumor of Formula 1. Does the current silver arrow duo already look around for other employers?

The unrest by a possible change from Max Verstappen to Mercedes brings movement to the paddock – even if the drivers directly affected themselves do not have any intentions to change. Both George Russell and Kimi Antonelli commented on the current situation before the home race in Silverstone.

Russell made it clear that there were no conversations with other clubs. When asked about possible negotiations with alternative teams, the Brit said: “No.” His teammate Antonelli also assured: “There are no conversations with another team.”

So far, Mercedes has not made a long -term promise for one of the two drivers. At the same time, speculation about a possible change from Verstappen has received new buoyancy in the past few days. The Dutchman is still under contract with Red Bull until 2028, but according to media reports, it should contain a performance -related exit clause.

Russell was unimpressed by the rumors. He read little news and do not listen to speculation, he said. The 26-year-old said that there was no fixed time for a decision about his future, but emphasized: “Of course you want to have done things before the summer break. It will happen when the time is ripe.” He trusts team boss Toto Wolff, who has the best for the team in view. Russell made it clear: “I am happy with every teammate and want to stay with Mercedes.”

Antonelli also confirmed his loyalty. Mercedes trained him in his own youth program. After moving from Lewis Hamilton to Ferrari, the 18-year-old moved to the regular team for the current season.

Verstappen himself was annoyed by the ongoing debate about his future. In the Silverstone paddock, he blocked all questions about his situation. “Nothing has changed from my side,” said the world champion. He did not specifically comment on his contract: “I don’t say anything about my contract.”
