Van de Zandschulp was already on Monday evening at the victory race in England, but then his party was stopped because of the invading darkness.

At the start of Tuesday afternoon, Van de Zandschulp was allowed to take office again and did the job, although it was not easy, just like bringing in the first two sets. Arnaldi also remained a difficult customer on Tuesday, but the Dutchman struck at his third match point.

For Van de Zandschulp, the victory over Arnaldi was the first victory since mid -April in Munich. He then gave up injured in Madrid, lost in the first round at Roland Garros and missed the Libéma Open in Den Bosch due to an upper arm injury. More than a week ago he was eliminated in the qualifications on Mallorca.

In the second round, Van de Zandschulp opens the Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, who beat the American Brendan Holt 3-0. Van de Zandschulp lost three of the earlier four games against the Spaniard, including two years ago at Wimbledon.

Sensational Exit Alexander Zverev

The first sensation on Wimbledon is a fact. Alexander Zverev has already been eliminated in Wimbledon’s opening round.

The third-placed German tennis player, who is still waiting for his first grand slam title, was surprised in five sets by the Frenchman Arthur Rindernech: 6-7 (3) 7-6 (8) 3-6 7-6 (5) 4-6.

Last year Zverev reached the fourth round, in which he lost to the American Taylor Fritz. Earlier this year, Zverev lost the final of the Australian Open and on Roland Garros he stranded in the quarterfinals.

The party was demolished on Monday at a score of 1-1 in sets. With the resumption, Zverev had little control over the service of Rinderknech, who tennis together with the Dutchman Sander Arends in the doubles.

Novak Djokovic in four sets to second round

Novak Djokovic started the hunt for his 25th grand slam title. The 38-year-old Serbish was too strong in four sets for Frenchman Alexandre Müller, ten years younger: 6-1 6-7 (7) 6-2 6-2.

Djokovic seemed to be on the way to a simple victory against Müller after the first set. The former number 1 in the world broke the Frenchman three times and took the first set in half an hour. Müller, however, held out in the second set, despite a series of breaking points on his storage. After six unused set points from Djokovic, the global number 41 cashed in his first at 8-7 in the tiebreak.

In the third set, Djokovic did not make it so exciting anymore and walked out quite smoothly, to 6-2. After an early break in the fourth set, Müller’s resistance was broken (6-2).

Jannik Sinner Easy on Wimbledon

Jannik Sinner (23) has easily qualified for the second round. The Italian number 1 in the world beat his fellow countryman Luca Nardi in three sets: 6-4, 6-3, 6-0. Sinner is now playing against Australian Aleksandar Vukic. Sinner reached the semi -final in 2023 at Wimbledon, his best performance in London so far.

The Italian Lorenzo Musetti was eliminated. The number 7 in the world lost 2-6, 6-4, 5-7, 1-6 to the Georgian Qualifier Nikoloz Basilashvili.

Taylor Fritz Possibly opponent of the Zandschulp

Taylor Fritz is in the second round. The fifth placed American settled in five sets in five sets with the French talent Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard: 6-7 (6), 6-7 (8), 6-4, 7-6 (6), 6-4. The tennis party was stopped on Monday due to invading darkness.

Fritz collected the hardest service ever on Wimbledon from Mpetshi Perricard on Monday. The Frenchman produced a storage of 246 kilometers per hour, but the point was for Fritz. The previous record was in the name of Taylor Dent, with a service of 238 kilometers per hour in 2010.

Fritz meets the Canadian Gabriel Diallo in the second round. He may then encounter from the sand sculpt.
