The new windmill would be on the other side of the E403 and be higher than the four recently licensed copies. Just those four wind turbines are already on protest: the city of Kortrijk has previously appealed against one of them, because of the possible impact on the village center of Bellegem. A local action committee also opposes the new plans. The group already went to the Council of State in the hope of being able to reverse the earlier permits. Now they also want to stop the new request.
To mobilize local residents, the committee is organizing an information meeting on Thursday evening. The aim is to collect as many objections as possible against the construction of the extra turbine.
