Three people were arrested on Tuesday evening at the demonstration in the center of Helmond. Several hundred protesters gathered at the town hall to let them know that they are against the arrival of a new AZC.
Two people were arrested in connection with forbidden possession of weapons and one someone was arrested because he could not show an identification, the police say.
Lots of police present
In the city, there is visibly a lot of police going, there are even agents on the roof terrace of the town hall. Part of the city center is concluded with concrete blocks and various demonstrators are searched by the police on arrival.
Geert Wilders spoke on stage. Thierry Baudet was also present at the demonstration. At the same time, counter-demonstrators who are for the arrival of a new youth AzC also gathered. A buffer zone is set up on the square to separate both groups.
Many attendees seek the shade through the heat.
