Kate Middleton and Prince William arrived in Belize in the past few hours for the first stop on a tour of the Caribbean that will see the royal couple also in Jamaica and the Bahamas. The journey, reveals the BBCis part of the activities of the year dedicated to the Platinum Jubilee of Elizabeth II which marks the 70 years of the reign of the British sovereign, and is the first since the beginning of the pandemic.
Their arrival was not without protests: the dukes of Cambridge had to cancel the stop on a cocoa plantation in Indian Creek village due to resident protests. It appears he has long been in a dispute with the charitable organization ‘Flora and Fauna’ over a disputed property. Instead, they were welcomed by Garifuna community.

The Duchess showed up with a delicious Tory Burch blue, red, white and light blue print midi dress and Stella McCartney espadrilles. A fresh and colorful ensemble that almost seems to echo Caribbean motifs and traditions. As you know, her looks are taken care of by her trusty stylyst Natasha Archer, wife of royal photographer Chris Jackson. As accessories, Middleton opted for a pair of very pop electric blue hoop earrings.

After the visit to the Garifuna community, the journey of the Dukes of Cambridge to Belize will continue under the banner of biodiversity: they will visit other sites that produce sustainable agriculture. Then they will “explore” some historical sites of the Maya. The tour will then continue at Bahamas where they will attend a Junkanoo parade. In Jamaica, finally, they will meet with the Jamaican Defense Force and will celebrate Bob Marley’s legacy.
