Homeless person breaks down in Teamhotel at the club World Cup

At the club World Cup, Fluminense from Rio de Janeiro is part of the BVB group. But in the middle of the struggle for group victory there was now a challenge away from the lawn.

An incident away from the field at Fluminense during the club world championship attracted attention. In the United States, a homeless man managed to avoid the security measures in the team hotel – and to spend the night in a player room, reports the Brazilian medium “Globo Esporte”.

As became known, the man entered the team hotel and slept there in the room of defender Ignácio. The police investigate the case. The situation was noticeable when Ignácio could not open his room door despite the valid access card. He then contacted the technical management, which then informed the hotel’s security service. When the room was opened, the employees found the homeless sleeping in bed, according to “Globo eSports”.

According to the club, no objects were stolen, the room was in decent condition. The man was expelled from the hotel, and the safety precautions were then reinforced. According to “Globo eSports”, Fluminenense rejected a statement on the incident. FIFA has not yet responded to an inquiry.
