One of the proposed locations for the artwork is the Mijnplein, a symbolic place where the forerunner of BCO played his home games. A concrete proposal is now being worked out in consultation with Gjergja, the club and a local artist. Artist Olivier Pauwels, an internationally renowned Oostdenaar, is mentioned as a possible artist.
The N-VA group emphasizes that this tribute not only awards Dario Gjergja’s exceptional career, but must also be a source of inspiration for future generations of Oostendse athletes. It is more than a token of gratitude, it is a recognition for Gjergja’s unique achievements.
