Play-out against Salernitana

Sampdoria Genoa has jumped off the descent into series C. After the traditional Italian club was ranked 18 in series B after the end of the regular season and thus on a direct relegation zone, the rescue is determined around five weeks later. In the relegation duel against US Salernitana, the game broke out on Sunday evening.
The fact that Sampdoria still had the chance to stay in the league was due to the Brescia Calcio point deduction. Four points were dismissed in February for the 15th of the final table due to irregularities when paying salaries and taxes in February. As a result, the Biancazzurri slipped from safe relegation to direct relegation – which the door opened for Sampdoria.
As the 17th, the former Italian champion, who once belonged to Europe’s top with stars like Gianluca Vialli and Roberto Mancini, was allowed to play out against the 16th from Salerno. Sampdoria won the first leg eight days ago with 2-0 (1-0) and also led 2-0 through goals of (38th minute) and (28th), before the fans of the host, who had only relegated from Serie A a year ago, let their frustration run free. Seat shells and smoke bombs flew onto the square and caused the game off after a little more than an hour.
This should not change anything at the outcome of the game and the relegation. Instead of sporty on the field, Sampdoria is expected to be awarded the win at the green table and can now plan with the whereabouts in series B, although this is not yet officially confirmed.
