Germany took 120 minutes to prevail in the quarter-finals of the U21 European Championship. The semi -finals are coming up on Wednesday.

Germany remains on a title course at the U21 European Championship. In the quarter -finals, the team of national coach Antonio di Salvo won 3-2 after extra time against Italy. Germany led 2-1 until shortly before the end of the regular season. Despite the double outnumbered, the DFB selection then conceded the equalization again and had to keep up. The winning goal by Freiburg’s Merlin Röhl then fell in the 117th minute.

Captain Eric Martel said after the dramatic victory: “No matter what happens to us, we can shake it off and always put it on.”

This is also necessary, because Germany’s opponent in the semi -finals is France. The “Équipe tricolore” prevailed 3-2 in the early Sunday evening after a late double pack against Denmark. The former Bayern striker Mathys Tel was also successful. Goal scorer Nick Woltemade said: “Again a cracker, the next top team.”

The semi -finals kicked off on Wednesday at 9 p.m. You can of course also follow the game in the live ticker at T-Online.
