TVThe final of ‘The Masked Singer’ was broadcast on VTM on Friday evening. Finally, it is now known who was in the suits this season. But that does not mean that all secrets have been given away. In ‘Behind The Mask’ you get a look behind the scenes of the hit TV show.
In ‘Behind The Mask’, Camille Dhont reveals that Miss Poes’ fur is based on that of her own cat, Mustache. “Normally Miss Poes would be a spotted cat,” she says. But during a working visit by the dressers, they noticed her cat Mustache. A beautiful gray cat. “And then Miss Poes’ fur is based on that of my own pet.”
In show four, Miss Poes got a new tail that was much heavier. And that tail almost got her into trouble during the episode. “That tail was made in such a way that it leaned more on one side, otherwise you can’t see it,” Camille says in ‘Behind the Mask’. “But if I moved just a little bit, it would slide all the way to that side and press it on my stomach. I could hardly sing then. And then I had to fall to the ground. That really shuts me up. I thought: this song really has to be done, because I can’t do it anymore.”
We already knew that Guga Baul and Conner Rousseau are ‘FC De Kampioenen’ fans. It is therefore not surprising that behind the scenes of ‘The Masked Singer’ they were constantly making jokes about it. “The fact that Guga was there was a real added value for me,” says Conner. “I also get along well with his madam, but I actually know him best of everyone. If you can do something silly and make ‘FC De Kampioenen’ jokes, it’s nice to put you at ease.”
In ‘Behind The Mask’, Conner tells how he had to learn to let his character live in between performances. “I really underestimated that staging,” he says. “That first show I wasn’t really thinking about it. Then Rabbit just stood still when the jury was talking, while a rabbit never really stands still. knob turned: it’s more than just singing. Then I started filling in that rabbit.”
That his beloved Loredana would participate in ‘The Masked Singer’ was no longer a secret for Pat Krimson, but which costume she was going to wear was. When Loredana told him, he was pleasantly surprised: “Exciting, because I have always loved castles and knights”, it sounded enthusiastic. And Loredana herself was happy too. “The first time I saw my suit, I was really in love. I am a huge fan of ‘Vikings’ and ‘Game of thrones’. Patje and I have seen all the seasons. When I saw the suit, I was really like: it really has that vibe. I can keep looking at it.”
In ‘Behind The Mask’ Loredana talks about how difficult it was in the beginning to restrain herself and distribute her energy well. Something she wasn’t used to doing at 2 Fabiola. “The first time I was there it was a bit of searching: focus on that song,” says Loredana. “When we go on stage with 2 Fabiola it’s like ‘okay, here I am’. Now that is a completely different matter, and you must also be careful not to say ‘put your hands in the air’. It’s hard to restrain yourself like that.”
