The Hurricane Festival 2025 will take place on the oak ring in Scheeßel this weekend. From June 20th to June 22nd, over 80 artists will appear on four stages. Around 78,000 visitors: inside is expected. Shortly before the start, however, there is a change in the line-up: the Metalcore band Motionless in White had to cancel its appearance. A replacement has already been found.
Indie rock instead of metalcore on Friday evening
Motionless in White should actually play on the Mountain Stage on Friday evening (June 20) at 8:45 p.m. However, as the festival line announced via the official app, the band cannot occur due to illness. “Unfortunately, @motionlessinwhite must cancel your appearance with us due to illness,” says the message.
But don’t worry, the slot does not remain empty: the indie rock band Leoniden takes over the place in the program. The organizers are grateful about the quick solution and write: “So that a huge thank you to the band that they could make it possible so quickly!”
In the comments under the associated Instagram post of the festival, visitors show: While some fans are happy about the spontaneous appearance of the Leonids and welcome the variety in the line-up, others regret the failure of Motionless in White. For some a win – a bitter loss for others.
Appearance at the Southside still unclear
Traditionally, the Hurricane Festival shares its line-up with the twin festival Southside in Neuhausen OB Eck. A performance by Motionless in White is also planned there – on Saturday (June 21) at 8:30 p.m. on the Red Stage. It is still open whether this appearance will take place. An official message from the Southside Festival has so far been pending.
In addition to Motionless in White (or its failure), numerous other big names appear at the Hurricane 2024. The headliners include Green Day, The Prodigy, AnnenMayKantereit, Apache 207 and Rise Against.
