FC St. Pauli has found further reinforcements after several departures on the offensive – including Morgan Guilavogui (27). As the Hamburgers announced on Friday, Mathias Pereira changes location of Stade Brest 29 to Millerntor. With its market value of 2.5 million euros, the 28-year-old is the most valuable new addition in club history, which was not only borrowed.
The native of Clermontis with Portuguese roots leaves his club free of charge after this season and receives a three -year contract with St. Pauli, reported “L’équipe” recently. Pereira Lage also played the team from Brittany for so long and was used in 99 games on almost every offensive position. On the left and right wing were his usual areas of application, but he also played several games in the central offensive midfield and even as a left-back.
Nine goals and 13 templates jumped out in time, but most of which are in the past season. In the French first division, he collected seven assists this season, five of them since March. He also contributed a goal in the Champions League against Red Bull Salzburg. In Ligue 1, there are 16 goals and 17 templates in 160 games at Angers SCO. Brest had once paid 1.5 million euros. For St. Pauli there is no money to the French, with which Pereira location is the second transfer free for the storm after the Englishman Ricky-Jade Jones (22).
FCSP sports director Andreas Bornemann said: “Mathias has a lot of experience at the national and European top level and, with his skills, corresponds exactly to the profile we are looking for for several offensive positions. Thanks to its versatility, we get his commitment again much more options. We are therefore particularly pleased that we were able to convince him of our way.”
That says St. Pauli’s coach Blessin about Pereira Lage
Head coach Alexander Blessin added: “Dynamics, technical skills, speed: Mathias has everything we want from an offensive player. In addition, there is a clever and team -related style of play, good standards as well as the willingness to work on the defensive and to go long ways. Since he has already experienced a lot in football, he will certainly not need a long starting time with us.”
Pereira Lage said: “After I have spent my previous career in France, I am now looking forward to a completely new league. FC St. Pauli is a very interesting club and in the conversations with those responsible I got a very good impression of how I can help the team with my skills to achieve the goals for the coming season. The anticipation is soon to start preparation.”
