Leonardo Scatturice has just stayed with Flybondi. Yes, the low cost airline that was sold as an emblem of the freedom to fly and now has a leading shareholder who comes from the world of private flights, but also of espionage .. a character with a curriculum as varied as doubtful. And that, although now it operates from Miami, has more connections in Buenos Aires than Aeroparque during the rainy week.
The operation was informed with a statement: Coc Global Enterprise, an American fund with interest in technology and aviation, became the main Flybondi investor. But the owner of Coc is Scatturice, a name that does not appear for the first time in the news. And either for the last.
Scatturice has several lives. He was an agent (or something similar) of intelligence, he had one step by the Federal Police, and in the world of spies he was known for his proximity to the faction of Fernando Pocino, the Archieneme of Antonio Stiuso. That intern, which exploded in the Kirchnerism years, put it on the radar: its C3 Consultings ended spied and its punctured telephone. In those listeners he appeared talking about politics, surveys, and even Lanata’s trips. As if not to attract attention.
Then he left the country. He settled in Panama and then in the United States. He married an American, Diana Marquardt, and started playing in other leagues. It ceased to be a minor operator to transform into something more ambitious: an entrepreneur with global ambitions. He founded companies, bought luxury properties in Miami, surrounded himself with powerful friends. Some acquaintances: Daniel Hadad, Mario Montoto and Santiago Caputo in recent years.
In Argentina he returned to the first page this year, when his Bombardier 5000 plane landed in Aeroparque with more than a dozen suitcases that no one wanted to check. The passenger was Laura Belén Arrieta, her employee. Customs wanted to intervene, but a call “from above” stopped everything. The plane was in a hangar by Royal Class, a company that also has it as an informal owner (but with formal documents).
When it was learned that he bought Flybondi, some associated him with the anecdote of the plane and the mystery. The truth is that Scatturice is not just the new owner of an airline. He is also an advisor to the Government of Milei, speaks with Santiago Caputo, is a provider of the State on platforms such as Educ.ar and Argentine trains, and one of the organizers of the CPAC Creole version, the flagship event of the international right. From Washington, he manages his global Tactic consultant, specialized in lobby and with a heavyweight like Barry Bennett, Trump’s ex -analysis, in the team.
Scatturice does not fly low. It has airplanes, a network of companies, partners that take care of it and operations that favor it. Sometimes it appears in the photos with business awards, sometimes with influential friends in the Jardines of Continuum South Beach. And now adds an airline.
Flybondi promised that flying was freedom. With scatturice in command, the slogan can have turbulence. And some suitcase without declaring.
