Titz signed a contract until 2027 in the “Red”. For the native of Mannheim, 96 must transfer a transfer to the FCM, in which the coach was still under contract. According to media reports, the Saxony-Anhalt is said to have recently asked for over half a million euros for their success coach. Both clubs did not comment on the detachment modalities.

With Titz, assistant coach André Kilian also moves to Hanover. Lars Barlemann, who looked after the team in the last four games of the past season, also counts on the 96-staff.

Great success with the 1. FC Magdeburg

At Maschsee, Titz meets Ralf Becker in sports director Ralf Becker. The coach worked with the manager for a few months at Hannnover’s Nordrival Hamburger SV, before he was on leave there in mid -October 2018. After an intermezzo at Rot-Weiss Essen, Titz moved to Magdeburg in February 2021.

Initially, the Mannheim-born saved the former European Cup winner from the third division. In the following season he managed to climb the FCM. In the past series, the Magdeburgers almost followed the jump to the Bundesliga.

Titz should lead 96 to the Bundesliga

This is exactly where Titz is now to lead the Lower Saxony. “Christian Titz has impressively demonstrated in recent years that he can do better, develop and successfully through a season,” said Becker.

96 managing director Marcus Mann also raved about the new tones: “When the opportunity to win Christian Tititz as head coach for our restart this summer, we quickly agreed that we want to tackle it together. He brings a very clear philosophy and stands for a football that we want to see at Hannover 9: courageous, intensive and forward.”

In Hanover successor to André Breitenreiter

In Hanover, the 54-year-old follows André Breitenreiter, of whom the “Reds” had separated on April 23 after only 13 games. After the resignation of the former ascent coach, the regular assistant coach Barlemann looked after the team as a chief coach in the remaining four season games.
