Should Tatjana’s famous ‘neighbor, what are you doing now?’-Scene after almost forty years still be cut out of the Flodder film? “Now one might say that it happened without consent.”
Tatjana Simic happened to have it on the radio this week: the famous ‘neighbor, what are you doing now?’-Scene in the Flodder film. It was a bare scene in which Tatjana’s character challenged the neighbor, after which he drove her. The Recordings were difficult And gave her a lot of tears, she now says, just under forty years later.
Daring and brutal
How should we look at that in 2025? Should this scene still not be removed from the film? Sexologist Eveline Stallaart, known for Married at First Sight and today Inside, says: “The famous sex scene that Tatjana played with the neighbor should be seen as an extremely uncomfortable situation that was comical.”
She continues in New Revu: “At that time, Tatjana was already shining a lot of confidence. She used the naughtyness of her character Kees Flodder to arrange an expensive car. We should not make it bigger than it is: it was just a humorous moment. Before the late 80s it was daring, daring and brutally.”
Consent
Now such a scene would be much more sensitive, Eveline thinks. “If you were to get the same scene to the time of today, one might say that it happened without consent or that the relationships are not correct. One could fall over that.”
She continues: “Also putting stereotype image of the willing woman and the horny neighbor would be a bit more sensitive at this time. It could be characterized as inappropriate touch.”
Laugh
Eveline does not think that the scene needs. “I think we should be able to keep laughing at these kinds of scenes and situations. Even now, Tatjana can still play such a role, although it will be a little more nuanced.”
There will be a new series from Flodder, with Tatjana. And even now that can remain challenging, the sexologist thinks. “The general image is that women between 50 and 65 can still have great fun between the sheets.”
