Essi Unkuri has been dreaming of a wedding since she was a little girl, but one thing about arranging the wedding was surprised.
2021 Miss Finland and radio presenter Essi Unkuri, 27, and her From the special forces Familiar engagement Viljami Harjuniemi, 34, gets married in the summer. Wedding arrangements are in good shape, although pressure and stress increase day by day.
– I’m not saying I’m on Bridez yet, but I bet we still have it, Unkuri laughs.
Unkuri and Harjuniemi started preparing the wedding immediately after they got engaged on a holiday in Thailand in January 2024.
The first to be on the list was the reservation of the Church. Unkuri and Harjuniemi marry the unkuri home in Vaasa, where Unkur had an accurate church in mind.
– I had marked the calendar anytime and at what time the bookings open. I probably called the pastor’s office 20 times in a few minutes, unkuri says.
Although the situation may have laughed at the official, it tells something essential about Essi: when he knows what he wants, he does his best for it.

The most surprising thing about arrangements
The most surprising thing about the arrangements has been the cost of the wedding. Unkuri has been dreaming of his own wedding since childhood and has planned what the perfect day would look like.
Unkuri says, however, that he has not taken into account prices in his childhood dreams.
– Sometimes I’ve even been out of prices.
– You could say that when you arrange a wedding, you can add zero or two. We already raised the budget once because not all purchases just fit into the original budget, unkuri says.
The couple has lived sparingly throughout the early part of the year for the wedding. They do not intend to borrow, even though they understand why many do so. Unkuri says it is really difficult to arrange a wedding wedding for less than € 10,000. The budget of Unkur and Harjuniemen is five digits.
The wedding is celebrated in the summer in American style throughout the weekend.
– All our friends come in and take time for the wedding, so we wanted to make it an experience for everyone. Everyone says that the wedding day goes so fast and during the wedding day you may not have time to spend time with all guests. It’s nice to have a little prolonging it and enjoy the guests longer.
About a hundred guests have been invited to the wedding – family, relatives and closest friends. The list of one hundred invited guests quickly became full. Participants had to be cut for budget reasons, but also because the couple want to spend time with the guests during the wedding day.
The couple has also discussed children’s participation in the party. They ended up with a solution where children are welcome, but the wedding is mainly an adult celebration.

– We wanted everyone to be welcome. However, it is a love celebration.

There has also been a debate on an important legal issue – a marriage.
– We have not yet made a final decision, but we have become familiar with the subject and discussed it a lot, says Hunguri.
– I think it is great that marriage is an option for everyone and that is something that is good to think with your spouse. In the end, each couple makes the most functional solution for them, more generally about the terms and conditions.
Wedding dress and wedding party
The unkur’s wedding dress was found in the fall and it was accompanied by a surprising emotional fierce. As a former mission, Unkuri has been wearing so many evening dresses that he didn’t think the wedding dress would cause any great reaction.
– I was alone in the locker room and looked at myself in the mirror. I got tears in my eyes. I knew right away that it was and I didn’t have to think for a second, unkuri says.
Also familiar to the public, Alina Voronkova, Viivi Aaltonen And Beata Leppilampi, agreed on the choice. They commented that Unkur’s body language had changed as he was dressed in the creation.
The grooms were responsible for organizing the Unkuri wedding party. At the time of the interview, Unkuri knew nothing about the stags at the time of the interview, but he relied on the ability to evaluate his grooms.
However, he had one wish.
– I have said one wish and it is that there would be no stripper. That thought is distressing me. I believe they respect this, even though it is a traditional stag party. Everything else can come as a surprise, unkuri laughs.

Rhythm of everyday life
In the spring, Unkuri started as a presenter on a new nationwide radio channel on Popfm. The new work, and especially the work community it brings, has been inspiring. Especially because the work of a social influencer is often lonely.
Unkuri is currently hosting a midday program alone on weekdays.
– I dreamed of having a couple. That’s the next goal. And maybe one day to be the presenter of the morning program, Unkuri says.
In his relationship, Unkuri dreams of a common family and a detached house with Harjuniemi. First, however, the gaze is closed at the upcoming wedding.
“Let’s see what the future will bring,” Unkuri says.
