The call for a tough fire arrived just before 6 pm at the fire brigade of the Midwest Aid Forces. Immediately it was clear that it was a heavy fire. When the fire brigade arrived on the spot, a large black plume of smoke rose above the Recyworks company, in the Velgeldermolenstraat, between Oostnieuwkerke and Sleihaeghe.
The affected company used to be called Bardoel but now belongs to Recyworks. It does in the rental and transport of containers for dump and waste. Especially loam plates. In the past there have been waste fires several times at the affected company.
