The two riders of the Red have spoken in view of the Canada GP: “I love working with Vasseur, we want to continue together”
After a Barcelona GP from the thriller ending, Formula One moves to America for the Canada GP. In Montreal – where from Thursday there is a much milder climate of the hot Spanish hot – thus hunting the hunt for plestments and Norris, protagonists of a new brace McLaren al Montmelò. Verstappen will surely try, the most insidious for the Papaya couple who, however, will have to be very careful: after the clash with Russell in Barcelona, another penalty point will mean disqualifying for him. Velate hopes also for Mercedes, who hopes to find lost competitiveness thanks to the typical Canadian cold. And the Ferrari? The Red will try to continue the good (and lucky) strip of podium placements that saw Leclerc among the first three both in Munich and Spain. Here, therefore, the words of the protagonists in the average day of the Canada GP.
Hamilton
–
“A good weekend? I think it would do me well, but I’m certainly not desperate. I would say that the situation is painted outside in a much more negative way than it is actually, and for all those who write about me … I have just started, and I’m here to stay for a long time. No doubt”. So Lewis Hamilton, protagonist in the Thursday press conference, wanted to reject the sender the voices that would like his relationship with Ferrari already in full crisis. And speaking of voices, English has firmly denied those according to which Team Principal Vasseur, “The reason I am in Maranello”, could leave the team at the end of the year. “I love working with him – explained Lewis – is the reason why I am here and we want to continue together. So I don’t like hearing at all what is said around, he has my full support”. As for the SF-25, in Spain the seven-time world champion has had to do “with one of the worst machines ever”, thanks to “a problem that has heavily influenced our race”. But the goal remains the same: “We want to return to win”.
stroll

His absence in Spain has made people discuss. And so, among alleged quarrels with the Spanish team and forfeit announced by email, Lance Stroll wanted to clarify: “The wrist had hurt me for some time. In Imola the pain returned, then in Monaco and Barcelona it became unbearable, so I had to operate”. In short, all in the norm. “As an athlete, you always try to push beyond physical pain – he added Lance – but in that situation I found very little sensible risk, so I preferred to stop to undergo an operation”. Then looking at the home GP, the Canadian hopes to “find the confidence in the guide immediately after the absence. I can say I feel better now and I can’t wait to be able to run in front of my home audience”.
Antonelli
–
I must admit that it was a rather complicated hat -trick for me. “Difficult to give wrong to Andrea Kimi Antonelli, back from three GPs where the 18th place in Monaco was the best result after the double retreat between Imola and Barcelona. And right on the Spanish race, the Mercedes driver explained that at Montmelò” I was enthusiastic about having found the rhythm after two weekends, even if I wanted to be so difficult for me, more than expected. Then the car had a problem “. But not everything is lost.” I want to go back to giving my full support to the team from this weekend – explains – George is giving the best and we intend to develop this car in the best way “. Finally, as a question about who, among the colleagues Rookie, has surprised him more, the Bolognese has no doubt:” Hadjar! I think so far has performed surprisingly and its qualifying speed is truly impressive. So I choose him, he is doing really well. “I can only agree-Lawson, teammate of the Franco-Algerian promptly replies-and think that I am his first challenger!”.
Verstappen
–
Those who expected a Pentite Verstappen will be disappointed after the clash with Russell in Spain and, above all, with a single point still available on the “license” to separate it from a disqualification. “I will never get back – explains the world champion – I will run as I have always done and I have so much confidence that it is the right way”. Commenting, then, the eleven share (points) achieved on the superelicance, Max reiterated that he “don’t worry about it. Life is unjust, you know, so it doesn’t make sense to think about it too much. I come to the circuit to compete, and I do it hard, as I think it should be done”.
Russell
–
Russell’s comment could not be missing on the clash between his Mercedes and the Red Bull of Max Verstappen in Spain. Curiously, the two met at the airport immediately after the race, as confirmed by English: “I was honestly surprised that Max had taken responsibility for what happened. Then we met at the airport, but we didn’t talk about it. He was with his family and there was also his son. I think he was more busy understanding how to pass the wheelchair in the scanner than to what happened on the track”. “For my part – concludes Russell – there is nothing. Of course, if he had ruined the race, I would probably be more angry, but I think his gesture cost him more than he himself than to me, so maybe I should thank him”.
Leclerc
–
“Pressure from the outside? I think Lewis and I already put it enough for ourselves.” Ferrari is experiencing a delicate moment, in which the second place in the manufacturers ranking does not return the most truthful picture of a team far from the ambitions at the beginning of the year. Leclerc knows this well, that Montreal’s Thursday explained how: “None of us are satisfied with how things went, but we have to stay concentrated”. And precisely on coexistence with the new teammate, the Monegasque confessed to “having remained amazed by Lewis’s braking ability. Drinking later of any partner I had. But his real secret is the discipline, it is a real example”. Like English, Leclerc also wanted to take the defenses of Team Principal Vasseur: “I, Fred and Lewis we share a long -term vision. We have a common goal and we want to conquer it together”. And on his future away from Maranello: “I don’t know where some rumors are from, I don’t comment on them. I love Ferrari”.
