FC St. Pauli pulled the purchase option, the RC Lens countered with his buyback option – and so the Hamburgers have to let their striker Morgan Guilavogui go again after only one season.
The 27-year-old, borrowed from the Bundesliga clubs for a year, changes back to France’s Ligue 1.
“In view of his services, we would have loved to keep it with us and also documented it by using the purchase option,” said St. Paulis sports director Andreas Bornemann about Guilavogui, who helped to stay with six goals and two assists: “Due to Lens’s buyback option, the final decision about Morgan’s future was not with us.”
