During a regatta near Kiel, a 25-year-old collapses on board. The woman had to go to the hospital.

Sea rescuers had to move out to the Kiel Fjord on Sunday. A 25-year-old woman lost consciousness several times during a regatta.

The emergency call received on Sunday afternoon when medical problems were reported on board a participating ship. The woman concerned complained of acute circulatory complaints and, according to the German Society for the Rescue of Shipwrecking (short: DGZRS), lost consciousness several times. At this point, the ship was around four nautical miles from the port in Schilksee.

Two emergency services from the DGZRS went directly on board the affected boat and took over the first aid there. At that point, the patient was already accessible again. Due to the medical situation, the rescuers decided to get the woman ashore immediately.

The crossing to Schilksee, about 7.5 kilometers away, took place despite difficult weather conditions: there were strong northwestern winds and a wave height of about half a meter. Arrived in Schilksee, the sea rescuers handed over the patient to the district rescue service, who brought her to a hospital for further treatment.
