Norway gave the DFB team back in the fight for the best lottery pot at the World Cup draw. There was a clear victory against Italy.

Norway increased the opportunities of the German national soccer team to the best lottery pot at the group draw for the 2026 World Cup through a clear victory against Italy. Thanks to the 3: 0 (3: 0) team of Superstar Erling Haaland against the “Squadra Azzurra” in the World Cup qualification, the DFB-Elf as a world ranking-tenth can shorten the deficit to Italy as ninth on Sunday in the game for third place on the Nations League against France.

Only the best nine teams of the FIFA world ranking, which is decisive for the setting process, will be one in Lostopf in the coming year, otherwise there will be crash games against Argentina, Spain or France in the group phase.

However, Italy threatens the next failure in qualification after 2018 and 2022. Only the group winner has the ticket for the 2026 World Cup, the second has to go to the playoffs. The kick -off in Oslo completely failed the team of coach Luciano Spalletti. Norway, on the other hand, has good chances with nine points after three games in Group I to qualify for a World Cup finals for the first time since 1998.

Alexander Sorloth scored the 1-0 after just 14 minutes. The former Leipziger overcame Gianluigi Donnarumma, who is under contract with the Champions League winner Paris Saint-Germain. The next goal was not long in coming. Leipzig’s Antonio Nusa scored 20 minutes later. With a powerful shot under the crossbar, he again left Italy’s goalkeeper no chance of defense.

Shortly before the half -time whistle, Erling increased Haaland to 3: 0. The striker took out the weaknesses of the Italian defensive ice cold and put the end of a dominant first half of the Norwegians with his goal.
