Soumaïla Coulibaly returns a month earlier than planned from his loan at Stade Brest 29 to Borussia Dortmund. This was announced by BVB on Thursday. The 21-year-old defender could take part in the club world championship that will start next week. However, Coulibaly has failed with adductor problems since March and is still in advanced training.
Coulibaly was awarded for the second time in a row last summer. He spent the 2023/24 season at the Royal Antwerp FC in Belgium. For Brest, he was used 16 times over 1,162 minutes and contributed a template. In addition to the adductor problems, a pelvic injury had also put him out of action for longer. During the loan, Coulibaly’s market value climbed from 6 million to 9 million euros, after the market value update of the Ligue 1 on Tuesday, it is 8 million euros.
The Dortmunders follow up in terms of personnel, since Nico Schlotterbeck (25) with a meniscus tear in the defense is for several months and Youngster Filippo Mané (20) is currently struck. BVB recently started preparing for the tournament in the USA with a fuselage squad. After a short vacation, coach Niko Kovac only welcomed around ten professionals to a first non -public unit. Niklas Süle (29) was briefly on the training area, but drove away again.
