Since the death of foo fighter drummer Taylor Hawkins, the song “Aurora” has repeatedly been referred to as its favorite-especially because front man Dave Grahl regularly dedicated this song on the tour after Taylor’s death. But now his son Shane Hawkins ensures a surprising clarification: his father’s true favorite song for playing was not “Aurora”, but “low” from the 2002-album one by one.

Shane in his father’s footsteps
For many by his moving appearance at the tribute concerts, Shane Hawkins became known for many in honor of his father, where he shared the stage with the Foo Fighters. Since then, the young musician has seemed consistently to continue his father’s path.
In the summer of 2025, the young Hawkins will tour the USA as a drummer with Chevy Metal, the old cover band by Taylor Hawkins. The start is planned in Denver on July 19. Is Shane new Foo Fighters drummer?
In addition to his tour with Chevy Metal, the rumors about a possible future at the Foo Fighters do not tear off. After the band surprisingly separated from Josh Freese, Shane Hawkins is considered a possible candidate for the vacant post on drums. However, the band has not yet announced a successor.
