A number of inhabitants of Klazienaveen catch Bot in a lawsuit on the construction of sixteen detached houses in the village. The Council of State has rejected their appeal against the zoning plan. The houses will be placed on the crawl.
What protests the four families that protests is that there is one of the last remnants of peat that the village has. The rare soil type is nowhere in Klazienaveen anymore.
Due to the value of this landscape element, a subsidy has been received, according to local residents. With that, the south side of the village could be refurbished.
However, the Council of State believes that the municipality has a good story. The part of the peat in the area is retained. Moreover, it has been agreed with the water board that there will be an adjusted drainage so that the area stays wet. There will also be a wide green zone between the existing and new houses.
The opponents of the new homes still threw out that the municipality has taken too little account of nature in the protected Bargerveen. The Council of State also wiped this off the table.
The land where the sixteen homes will be placed is the property of the municipality. Four houses become bungalows with a flat roof. The group of residents of the ceremonies says that they had to pay a lot of money for their plots at the time. They fear that their houses are now deteriorating in value.
