Jonas Vingegaard is currently preparing for the Tour de France and the showdown with permanent rival Tadej Pogacar in the altitude training camp in Spain. From the peaks of the Sierra Vevada, the Dane sends a declaration of war to Pogacar.
In the years 2022 and 2023, Jonas Vingegaard dictated the Tour de France, won the big loop in front of Tadej Pogacar, in 2023 even with a big lead.
In the previous year, the Slovenian turned the spit, distant Vingegaard clearly over the three weeks. 2025 is the next showdown: gets Pogacar his fourth or Vingegaard his third tour victory?
After an impressive spring season, Pogacar goes to the most important bike race in the world as a favorite in the tour of the Flanders and Liège-Bastogne-Liège. The experts who tend to Vingegaard refer to his severe fall, which had made it significantly more difficult for him in 2024.
Vingegaard itself also sees itself much better this year. “I also had the feeling of being able to ride the victory last year, but that was obviously not the case,” said the 28-year-old in “Eurosport” interview: “This year I feel completely different-how my body reacts to the training on the one hand and on the other hand as far as my body feeling is concerned.”

At the same time, Vingegaard emphasized that he had to increase even compared to his best tour days. “Everyone is taking a step forward,” said the two-time France triumphant: “So I have to be better than I was two years ago.”
